Agatha Hurley Johnson

DURHAM- Mrs. Agatha Hurley Johnson, 94, passed away on October 18, 2021.

Mrs. Johnson was born September 12, 1927 to the late Coley Hurley and Daisy Glenn Hurley. Agatha was a homemaker and a baby sitter for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a Christian and known for her prayer list and her prayer warrior friends.

In addition to her parents, Agatha is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack Ellis Johnson; daughter, Jackie Hancock; brothers, Dana Hurley, Ray Hurley, Sonny Hurley, and Norman Hurley; and sister, Barbara Brown.

Agatha is survived by her son, David Johnson (Sharon); son-in-law, Donnie Hancock; brother, C.R. Hurley (Carolyn); grandchildren, Darryl Hancock (Gail), Kim Oakley (David), Scott Hancock (Carrie), and Jodi Johnson; great-grandchildren, Emily Mundy (Dave), Alan Hancock, and Kaley Stone; and  great-great-grandchild, Brooks Mundy.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Scott Hancock, Alan Hancock, Darryl Hancock, Dave Mundy, David Oakley, and Chuck Anderson.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 22, 2021 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Earnest Thompson. A visitation will be one hour prior from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
