Alberta Mitchell Taylor Ferrell

DURHAM  Mrs. Alberta Mitchell Taylor Ferrell, 93, known as “Birdie” or “Bert”, departed this life on Friday, July 19, 2013, in Durham, N.C.

She was born on March 5, 1920 in Middlesex, N.C. to the late Norman and Ada Mitchell. She was a member of Henderson Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memories, Betty R. Mangum, Luetta Pitt, both of  Durham, and Leon Taylor of Lumberton.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the Henderson Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Johnnie  Bethea will officiate.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Robert Cannady, Cornell Cannady, Christian Cannday, Elijah Becton, Ronald Singletary, Theodore Pitt, Jr. , Michael Harris and Shelton Turner.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 27th from 1 to 2 p.m., before the service at Henderson Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2806 Page Road, Morrisville, NC 27560. Flowers are acceptable.
