Alexander James Almasy

DURHAM- Mr. Alexander James Almasy, 56, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2019.
Alex was born December 31, 1962 to Alexander and Carol Almasy in Queens, NY. Alex was a passionate musician who played with several local and regional bands, including Steve Owens and Summertime, the Triangle Jazz Orchestra, and The Moonlighters Orchestra. Alex will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and brother.
Alex is preceded in death by his father, Alexander A. Almasy. He is survived by his mother, Carol Zimmerman; step-father, Tom Zimmerman; wife, Maya Almasy; daughters, Katherine and Elizabeth Almasy; brothers, Steve Almasy, Peter Almasy (Emily), and Jon Almasy (Stephanie); sisters, Lynn Hornsby (Kim), and Lori Huggins (Larry).

A celebration of life will be held May 19, 2019, at 4:00 p.m. St. Stephens Episcopal Church. A visitation will be held prior at 3:00 p.m. in the parish hall of St. Stephens Episcopal Church.
