Alice Doris Sanders Warren

DURHAM- Ms. Alice Doris Sanders Warren, 85, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019.
Ms. Warren was born on September 22, 1933 to Eddie and Martha Sanders in Johnston County, NC. Alice worked at Burlington Industries as a spinner, service tech and truck driver for a period of 15 years, and worked with Community Action to transport patients to and from their appointments. She retired as a nurse’s assistant with Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was a volunteer for Helping Hand Mission in Raleigh, NC. Alice was creative of making dolls, raising dogs (Columbia-her favorite poodle) and her favorite flower was a rose. She loved her family and will be deeply missed.
Ms. Warren is preceded in death by her parents and husband, William Owen Warren; brothers, James Sanders, Albert Sanders, and Eddie Sanders; sisters, Mary Sanders, Tessie Rhue, and Nancy Sanders; grandchild, Joey Zabala. She is survived by her only son, Billy Owen Warren of VA; two daughters, Verna Brown (Walter) of Durham, and April Davis (Kenneth) of Clayton; eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a great-great granddaughter.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Hudson Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Memorial service will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness at 635 Bon Air Avenue, Durham, NC 27704 on Monday, August 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be Charles Welch.
