DURHAM- Mrs. Alma Clements Sorrell, 99, thirteen days short of her 100th Birthday, she was from Durham, died on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. She was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late James Offie Clements and Blanche Beavers Clements. She was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Woodrow Sorrell, two brothers, James Linwood Clements and Winfred Clements, two sisters, Olivia C. Mason and Madeline C. Marks.
She is survived by one son, Clyde R. Sorrell (Sharon), one sister, Ruth Perry, three grandchildren, Wendy Auman, Paige Ciasto and Parrish Livingston.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Tommy Talton, Pastor Betty Bunn will officiate and Wendy Auman will speak. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Danny Page, Eddie Page, Jim Lynn, Floyd Pearce, B.J. Hildebran and Joel Morris.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Flowers are acceptable. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
