Alma Gertrude Prince

ROXBORO- Mrs. Alma Gertrude Parker Prince, 96, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020.

Mrs. Prince was born on July 3, 1924 to Erskin and Ida Parker in Orange County, NC. She worked for 40 years at Liggett and Myers Tobacco Company as a machine operator. Alma was a faithful Christian and regularly attended Grove Park Chapel, formerly Gospel Center. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife of 73 years to her husband Excell, who passed in 2019.

Mrs. Prince was preceded in death by her parents, Erskin and Ida Parker; her husband of 73 years, Gustava Excell Prince; brothers, Robert S. Parker, John W. Parker, and Billy Jacobs Parker; and her sister, Peggy Wynne. She is survived by her sisters, Betsy Parker Mangum (J.B.) of Rougemont, NC, and Mary Pauline Hicks (Donald) of Hillsborough, NC.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Officiating will be Reverend Dale Brooks.
