CARDENCREEDMOOR Mrs. Amanda Carden, 94, of 1596 Will Suitt Road, Creedmoor, died at Durham Regional Hospital on Sunday, October 10, 2010.Mrs. Carden was born in Durham to the late Wilson Elvis and Melissa Elizabeth Powers Pendergraft. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and lived her life serving the Lord. Prior to retiring from the Bible Book Store she worked seven years with Durham Drapery and the Durham Hosiery Mill. She was lifelong member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, 4 sisters, 2 son-in-laws, Artis Perry and Ronnie Tilley.She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Clyde Otis Carden, Sr.; one son, Clyde Otis Carden, Jr. and wife, Wanda of Rougemont; three daughters, Barbara Carden White and husband Eddie of Creedmoor, Sandra Carden Perry and Janice Tilley-Moles and husband, Robbie all of Durham;brother, Glenn Pendergraft and sister, Nelma Bunn; 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Dr. Lonnie Graves, Rev. Jim Turnbourgh and Rev. David Edwards. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be her Grandsons.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at their home, 1596 Will Suitt Road, Creedmoor. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Juer and the Community Heathcare and Hospice for their kindness and care given to our Mother during her illness.
