Ann Paskoff, 89, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Seasons at Southpoint Memory Care in Durham, NC. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, a first generation American who remembered that as a child she helped her mother study for the U.S. citizenship exam. She went to Jefferson High School in Brooklyn and worked several jobs to help support her family. She married at 19 and enjoyed nearly 70 years of marriage to her loving and devoted husband, David. They moved to Raleigh, NC in 1974. For over a decade she worked at Ronson’s clothing store in the old North Hills Mall and for many years she and Dave volunteered in the office at Temple Beth Or in Raleigh and for a time in the office of Raleigh Little Theater. She was devoted to her grandchildren and got her first driver’s license at age 60 just before the birth of the first one.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Pauline Dembrowsky, and her brother, Sidney Dembrowsky. She is survived by her husband David of Durham, NC, her two sons; Paul Paskoff (Debbie) of Fort Mill, SC and Stan Paskoff (Penny) of Durham, NC, and her two grandchildren Samuel and Laura Paskoff, both of Raleigh, NC.
The funeral service and burial were held on Friday, September 30, at the Judea Reform Congregation Cemetery followed by a meal of consolation and minyan at the home of Stan and Penny Paskoff.
Funeral arrangements were made by Hudson Funeral Home.
