Annie Jean Flinchum

DURHAM Annie Jean Flinchum, 80, departed this life on Thursday, November 01, 2012, at Stafford house in Durham. She was the youngest child of Roy M. and Carrie L. Flinchum, born December 7, 1931 in Draper NC. She grew up in Murdoch School in Butner NC. She was an outgoing, quickly trainable compassionate person. She remained there as an adult, serving as a special “teacher” to the younger students. She learned to do in-home caregiving for terminally ill patients. In later years she enjoyed living in an adult group home and working at the Sheltered Workshop, well into her 70’s. She is survived by her sister Iris F. Harvey; her brother, Bob Flinchum and nieces and nephewsShe was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Monroe Flinchum.A graveside service will held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Danview Cemetery in Eden N.C.
