DURHAM Mrs. Annie Ruth Medlin, 81, a former resident of Durham, died on Sunday, March 1, 2015. She had lived in Oxford for the past 15 years.
Mrs. Medlin was born in Durham to the late Percy and Elizabeth Pennington Rigsbee. She retired from Duke University Medical Center as a Patient Care Assistant. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Durham. She loved taking care of her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Manley Medlin Jr. and brother, Lewis Rigsbee.
She is survived by her three sons; Wayne Medlin of Oxford, Vernon Medlin of Goldsboro and Wesley Medlin of Franklinton; three daughters, Rhonda Weingard of Hillsborough, Kaye Williamson of Oxford and Myrna Cone of Wake Forest; 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Mr. Jimmy Pulley and Rev. Donnie Cash will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ryan Mishoe, Keith Walker, Scott Holder, Chad Pearce, Gary Rigsbee and Mike Rowland. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Rigsbee, Lewis Ray and Tony Smith.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Flowers are acceptable. Online condolences may be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
