DURHAM- Mr. Anthony “Tony” Summers Clipse, 54, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.
Mr. Clipse was born on April 3, 1965 to William and Betty Clipse in Kingsport, TN. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from Tennessee State University. Tony has lived in Durham for over 25 years and attended Raleigh First Assembly Church. He enjoyed radio control airplanes and had a passion for flying, which led him to pursue training to obtain his pilots license. Tony also enjoyed working with his hands and crafting. Even though Tony struggled with anxiety and depression for many years, he did not let it keep him from putting his family first. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and brother.
Mr. Clipse was preceded in death by his parents, William and Betty Clipse. He is survived by his wife, Amy Turner Clipse; sons, Matthew and Jonathan Clipse; and brothers, Gary of Kingsport, TN, Jack (Sue) of Mansfield, OH, Delaney, and Fred Clipse.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, February 23, 2020. Officiating will be Pastor Dale Tracy. Pallbearers will be Ronald Turner, Gene Turner, Jerry Turner, David Sorrell, Bob Mishler, and Bobby Mishler. Burial at South Granville Memorial Gardens will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020.
