DURHAM Ms. Artisse Larue Fontain, 75, of Durham, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 07, 2015.
Ms. Fontain was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late William Corbin and Gladys Ellen Fontain – Corbin. She graduated from Germantown High School in 1958. Ms. Fontain retired after 35+ years as a Catalog Analyst with the Federal Government – Department of Defense. She was a gifted and renowned child prodigy pianist and loved interior decorating and baking. She was also an artistic painter and sketch artist in her earlier years. Ms. Fontain accepted Christ as her savior early in life and was a member of Pinn Memorial Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Maurice Fontain, John Kevin Fontain and Brian Roger Christopher Fontain; daughters, Michele Lee Fontain-McMicheaux (Steven), Jina Ellen Williams (Sebastian) and Denise Nicole Fontain-King (Quanton); grandchildren, Michael Anthony Fontain, Melissa Abrams, Dijon Fontain, Dae’jah Brianna Fontain, Mikayla Good, Kyle Thomas Fontain – McMicheaux, Travis Sebastian Williams, Jae’den Keyes, and Isaiah Keys; great-grandchildren, Disjon Jr., Dwayne Jr., Alyssa, Melodie, and Amiya.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 13th, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home, 211 S. Miami Blvd, Durham, NC 27703 and other times at the home of Jina Williams and family, 5014 McCormick Road, Durham, NC 27713.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Philadelphia, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jina Williams and Family, 5014 McCormick Road, Durham, NC 27713. Online condolences may be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
