Barbara Lynch Asbury

Barbara Lynch Asbury, 75, passed away January 1, 2025, at Duke Hospital. 

Mrs. Asbury was born December 25, 1950, to the late Lenore Ruzicci Lynch and George Lynch in Bluefield WV. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wilmington, N.C. Barbara loved spending time with family, listening and dancing to beach music, cooking, and teaching water aerobics.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Asbury was preceded in death by her sister, Susie Mitchell.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 54 years, James Reece Asbury Jr. originally of Bluefield WV; son James Reece Asbury III of Roxboro NC, daughters, Karmon Allison (Brent) of Durham and Ashley Soblotne of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Christopher Asbury, Shaylynn Wilbourne, Mackenzie A. Elliott (Chase), grandchildren Ethan Soblotne, Jaxon Soblotne and great-grandchildren Hardin Wilbourne and Easton Elliott.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Leland, NC.
