SOUTH BOSTON, VA- Mrs. Barbara Yvonne Johnson, 73, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019.Mrs. Johnson was born November 16, 1945 to Hallie and Hazel Kelly in Durham, NC. Barbara loved her husband dearly and loved her family and friends. Her grandchildren were her joy in life. She loved watching birds and butterflies. Barbara will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she was also loved for her unique, one-of-a-kind personality.Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, Jeremiah “Jerry” Johnson; son, William “Joey” Johnson; daughter, Beth Johnson; grandchildren, Walter T. Johnson, Michael J. Johnson, Brandon W. Johnson, Stacy J. Runion, Brandon J. Link, John D. Powell, Jr., and Chelsea N. Powell; great-grandchildren, Peyton Johnson, Lincoln Johnson, Waylon Johnson, Ashlynn Link, Jacob Runion, Bailey Runion, Gage Davis, and one on the way.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Halifax Hospital Hospice at 2204 Wilborn Ave, South Boston, VA 24592.A visitation will be held Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum at Woodlawn Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Russell Terry. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Barksdale, Lance Wilbourne, Cecil Johnson, John Powell, Heath Wilson, and Daniel Runion. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Johnson, Ray Draughan, and Tim Chappell.
