Barbara Ruth Watson

Mrs. Barbara Ruth Watson, age 82, formerly of Durham, died Tuesday, January 8th, 2019. The Lord called her home peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of the morning.

Mrs. Watson was a native of Durham, daughter of the late James Cannon “JC” Oakley and Lucetta Ruth Oakley. She worked as a hair dresser for years until she retired to New Jersey.

Mrs. Watson is survived by her daughter Wendy Curran and son in law, Tim Curran; three grandchildren, Jordan, Jenna, and Cole Curran; two sisters, Betty Ann Squires and Carolyn Rigsbee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tracy Watson; four sisters, Doris Bennoff, Billie Leathers, Pat Parish, and Rebecca Avery.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Celebration of life to follow. Location will be announced at the service.
