Beaufort Hedgepeth Stainback

DURHAM- Beaufort Hedgepeth Stainback, 92, of  Durham passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Lartha Allen Hedgepeth and Judy Ann Myrick Hedgepeth.  Beaufort worked for 22 years at Duke Medical Center in the EKG Unit and Pediatric Clinic. She has been part of the Gorman Community for the past 64 years, a long time member of Gorman Baptist Church and the Summerlin Ladies Class. She was an avid Duke Fan, loved Duke basketball, cooking homemade meals, camping, outdoor activities and loved to travel. She had a devotion for family and loved family activities.  She was preceded in death by her husband J.O. Stainback, son, Michael Stainback, grandson, Christopher Stainback, and 5 siblings.

She is survived by her sons, Preston Stainback and wife Shyrl of  Morganton;  Kerry Stainback and wife Donna of  Durham; daughter-in-law, Nancy Stainback of Durham; daughter, Debbie Hicks and husband Terry of  Raleigh; brother, Donald Hedgepeth; sisters, Effie Rowan,  Rebie Hancock and Rachel Bruce, and sister-in-law, Joyce Hedgepeth; grandchildren, Kathryn Stainback, Kendel Stainback, Lynnsey Johnson  and husband Matt, Oliver Stainback, Hilary Hicks and husband Kivett, Jeffrey Stainback, Brian Hicks and Shelley Stainback; great-grandchildren, Colton Hicks and Jackson Hicks.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Gorman Baptist Church. Reverend Preston Stainback and Dr. C.J. Bordeaux will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Kendel Stainback, Oliver Stainback, Jeffrey Stainback, Matt Johnson, Kivett Hicks and Ron Bowling.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 2, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
