Benjamin “Mark” Radford

Benjamin Mark Radford, age 52, of Durham, NC passed away Monday, April 4, 2022.

Mark battled a steady stream of health problems that began after an accident in 2013.  Multiple bouts of MRSA, sepsis and osteomyelitis eventually led to kidney and heart failure.  Mark was a quadriplegic for most of the last year of his life and his body was just no longer strong enough to fight the battle.  After 9 years of pain and suffering, Mark’s spirit is soaring.  We take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace and pain free.

He is survived by his wife, Tina Radford of Durham; son Dylan Radford (Stacey) of Clayton; Mother, Ann Radford of Rockingham; brothers Matt Radford (Margaret) of Advance; Jeff Radford (Pam) of Rockingham, David Radford of Rockingham; and sister Tammy Cox (Drew) of Oriental. Mark was blessed to have many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.  Preceding him in death was his father, Avery Benjamin Radford.

Mark had struggles that he battled daily but he was so much more than his struggles.  He loved spending time with family and friends.  Anyone that truly knew him, knew he had such a big heart.  Mark was always willing to offer a helping hand.  When he was able, he loved to ride his Harley, go four-wheeling, roller-skating, talking on the CB Radio, and to tinker on most anything.  He never knew a stranger.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 -2:00 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2022 at Hudson Funeral Home with a funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Tim McCreight. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Flowers are acceptable or donations can be made to any animal shelter, the Durham Rescue Mission or a charity close to your heart.
