Bennie Lee Turner

DURHAM Mr. Bennie Lee Turner, 75, of Durham, died on Friday, October 7, 2016.
Mr. Turner was born in Oxford, the son of late Robert and Effie Cox Turner. He was a member of the Covenant Life Apostolic Church in Butner. He was employed with Mickey Ellis as a mechanic and tow truck operator. He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Lee Turner; brothers Howard Turner, Hubert Turner, Robert “Buster” Turner and William Turner; and one sister.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Peggy Pittman Turner; three sons, Clifton Turner and wife, Tracey of Pfafftown, NC, Danny Wayne Turner and wife, Susan of Butner and Benie Joseph and wife, Karin Toski of Franklinton; brother, James Turner and wife, Johanne of Butner and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Covenant Life Apostolic Church in Butner. Pastor David Akers will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Carlos Cruz, J. D. Weolk, John Glasier, David Dunn, Quinton Amos, Richard Windon, Manny Morales and Randy Smith.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12 to 1 p.m., before the service at the church and other times at the home of Danny and Susan, 308 21st Street in Butner. Flowers are acceptable. Online condolences may be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
