Betsy Ann Sikes

DURHAM Mrs. Betsy Ann Sikes, 71 of Durham, died on Thursday, April 6, 2017.
Mrs. Sikes was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late James E. Julier and Marion Julier. She worked at Grace Baptist Church as a daycare teacher for over 25 years and attended Temple Baptist Church. She had a great love for arts and crafts and was very artistic. She loved knitting and making afghans was her specialty.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Douglas Sikes; her son, Jay Sikes and wife, Amy of Willow Springs; two sisters, twin sister, Jane Strickland and husband, Larry and Delores Wilkins, wife of the late Bobby Wilkins both of Durham; three grandchildren, Emerson, Holden and Sophie Sikes and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Mark Mofield will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Robert Sikes, David Hunt, Paul Strickland, Steven Strickland, Frank Rich and Robbie Rich.
