Bettie Jean Lassiter

DURHAM Bettie Jean Lassiter, 73, of Durham, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 25, 2012.Bettie was a native and lifelong resident of Durham. She retired from Woolworths and operated BB’s Daycare in her home for 10 years. She was of the Pentecostal faith. Bettie was an avid Tarheel Fan. She is survived by her sister, Martha Winders (James); nephews, Joel R. Winders (Meredith), Robert Rob C. Winders (Crystal), and Michael Winders; 1 great-niece, Katelyn Winders; 3 great-nephews, Levi Winders, Jacob Winders and Andrew Winders and extended Family, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.Graveside services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park in the Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., before the service at the cemetery. Rev. Jack Lassiter and Rev. Danny Evans will officiate. The family would like to thank the Staff of Carver Living Center and the Duke Hospice for their care of Bettie during her illness.
