Betty Garrison

DURHAMBetty Johnson Garrison, 71, of Durham and formerly of Columbia, SC, died Friday, August 27, 2010, in Durham Regional Hospital.Mrs. Garrison was born in Panola County, TX, to the late Jack William and Louise Powell Johnson. She was active in children’s ministries and in the Independent Baptist Church Movement. Mrs. Garrison was a faithful supporter of missionaries, a faithful church member and a soul winner. She was married for 50 years to Donald Lee Garrison and was a homemaker. Mrs. Garrison was an avid grower of African violets, winning numerous awards and ribbons. Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Garrison Miller and husband, Michael Andrew Miller of Irmo, SC, and Linda Ann Garrison Hardbarger and husband, Brian Keith Hardbarger, along with their seven dogs, of Durham; and two grandsons, Jack Garrison Miller and Harrison David Kelly Miller. Entombment will be held in Florence National Cemetery in Florence, SC. In lieu of flowers and plants, the family requests that charitable donations be made to Gospel Fellowship Association, Donation for Miranda Horn, 1809 Wade Hampton Blvd., Suite 110, Greenville, SC 29609.
