Betty Jean Marcom Stone

DURHAM Mrs. Betty Jean Marcom Stone, 75, of 3915 Angier Avenue, died on Monday, April 30, 2012.Mrs. Stone was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late John Lewis Marcom and Hazel Thomas Marcom. She was employed 51 years with SunTrust Bank. She was a former member of Angier Avenue Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She is a member of Bethesda Baptist Church where she was a caregiver in the Nursery and a volunteer in Vacation Bible School and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Truthseekers Sunday Class and class President. She was a member of the Sertoma Club. Betty was a loving mother and grandmother and a very giving person. She is survived by her son, Jimmy Stone and wife, Teresa of Creedmoor and her daughter, Terri Stone of Durham; grandchildren, Kayla Stone, Dylan Stone, Tyler Stone, Josh Cary and Tiffany HoutzA graveside service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Jacob Green. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church and other times at the home, 3915 Angier Ave.
