DURHAM- Mrs. Betty Jean Pemberton, 77, passed away on November 30, 2021.
Mrs. Pemberton was born May 5, 1944 to the late George and Nannie Knott. Betty was a faithful Baptist. She enjoyed watching services on television and reading her Bible. Betty, or Jean Bean as she was called, took great care of her family. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She touched the lives of many, as she used to babysit numerous children. Betty was a strong-willed woman who loved to keep busy. You could find her outside working in the yard, thrift shopping, or at yard sales. Betty will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Pemberton; brother, Elton Knott; and sisters, Josie Clayton and Patsy Knott.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Angel Carlisle (Doug), Sissy Pemberton, and Rhonda Finch (Ed); brother, Buster Knott; grandchildren, Steven Carden (Jasmine), Scott Gardner (Tori), Chelsie Carpenter (Ryan), Lauren Interiano (Darwin), Justin Finch, and Jessica Hunter (Greg); great- grandchildren, Anaiyah Carden, Bailey Gardner, Aubrey Gardner, Easton Hunter, and Caelynn Carpenter; as well as other loving family members.
The public is welcome to view and sign the register book Friday, December 3, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Rev. Genaves John Rigsbee.
