DURHAM Mrs. Betty Lou McLean Wrenn, 84, of Durham, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 26, 2016, after a long illness she had fought with courage, fortitude and grace.Mrs. Wrenn was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late LeRoy McLean and Ethel Goforth McLean. She retired from General Electric and MCNC. Mrs. Wrenn attended Grove Park Chapel. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, ceramics, floral arrangements, but mostly loved being a mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Penny Byrd; brothers, LeRoy and Bill McLean and a sister, Dorothy O’Briant.She is survived by her son, Michael Penny of Durham; daughter, Paige Seymore and husband, Ron of Durham; step-children, Theresa Haithcock, Bill Wrenn and Joy Ivey; sisters, Marion Casey, Pat Fletcher and Jo-Ann Boswell; step-grandchildren, April Haithcock, Kristen Seymore, Heather Seymore and Ron Seymore II. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 30th at 11 a.m. at Grove Park Chapel. Rev. Dale Brooks will officiate. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel of Hope Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Tony McLean, Gary McLean, Billy Boswell, Mark James, Tod Puckett and Bill Wrenn. Honorary pallbearers will be the caregivers at Brookdale Senior Living Center and in home caregivers Faye McClain and Angela Daye.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Paige Seymore.
