DURHAM- Mr. Bobby Ray Elliott, Sr., 83, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at Eno Pointe Assisted Living.
Mr. Elliott was born May 26, 1938 to the late Carvie and Mildred Elliott in Durham, NC. He was a Firefighter with the Durham Fire Department and owned and operated Elliott Auto Sales. Mr. Elliott enjoyed racing as he was a race car driver where he raced in Benson, Burlington and Orange County Speedway as “00”. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Elliott is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Phillips Elliott; brothers, Gerald and Billy Elliott; sister, Peggy Moody.
Mr. Elliott is survived by his sons Rick Elliott and Ray Elliott, Jr.; brother, Glenn Elliott; grandchildren, Tracey Elliott, Bobbie Nicole Elliott, Brandon Elliott, Brittany Elliott and Josh Elliott; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Ryder, Baylor, Maya, and Binky.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Craig Elliott, Jerry Elliott, Todd Elliott, Bill Mayton, Wayne Mayton, and Dwight Beverly. Serving as Honorary Pallbearer will be Richard Clements.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Officiating will Pastor Kenneth Price.
