Bonnie Davis Taylor

DURHAM Mrs. Bonnie Davis Taylor, 92, a former resident of Ellis Road in Durham, died at her home in Mebane on Saturday, December 3, 2016.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Chapel Hill, the daughter of the late Renard Davis and Nettie Wimberly Davis. She retired after 10 years with the Duke Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the West Durham Pentecostal Holiness Church where she sang in the choir. She loved her church and enjoyed traveling, embroidery and reading. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Coleman Taylor; her son, William Lester Burgess; four brothers, Pete Davis, Marvin Davis, Herbert Eugene Davis and Billy Ray Davis; one sister, Barbara Robertson.
She is survived by her three daughters, Barbara Jeffries of Mebane; Becky Burgess of Butner and Wanda New of Creedmoor; two brothers, Charlie Davis and Wrenn Davis; three sisters; Sarah Wright, Loyse Hewett and Mary Davis; 10 grandchildren, Tammy Rowsey, Tina Wilkins, Wendy Batten, Jennifer Jeffries Crystal Roberts and five others; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Pastor James Williams will officiate. Pallbearers will be Dewayne Turnage,Herschel Turnage,Randy Wilkins, John Batten, Rodney Carroll and Kevin Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Davis, Wrenn Davis and Kelly Rowsey. Entombment will be in the Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Chapel of Remembrance.
