Brenda Ferrell Brooks

DURHAM- Mrs. Brenda Ferrell Brooks, 63, passed Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Hock Family Pavilion.
Mrs. Brooks was born May 16, 1956 to the late William and Mildred Ferrell, Jr. in Durham, NC at Watts Hospital. She was very strong in her faith and loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Brenda enjoyed the beach. She enjoyed taking care of others and always a positive person. Brenda worked at Roses, Kroger and Wellspring Grocery, now Whole Foods for many years where she enjoyed helping others. In her joy of helping others she became a caregiver for the elderly and children. Her children and family always felt loved by her. She will be deeply missed and those who knew her were blessed to have known her.
Mrs. Brooks is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Brooks; parents, William and Mildred Ferrell, Jr.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by her son, Chris Cook (Michelle Schoepper); daughter, Joy Cook (Matthew Walker); sister, Donna Neal (Gary); grandchildren, Kai Cook and Stella Cook; nephew, Justin Neal (Kelsey) and their son, Greyson, Tyler Neal (Leslie).
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held a half hour prior to the service. Officiating will be Pastor Gary Neal.
