DURHAM Mr. Buck Cornell Teasley, 81, of Durham, died on Sunday, January 03, 2016.
Mr. Teasley was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, son of the late Leo Teasley and Mary Ann Teasley Stegall. He served in the U.S. Army and National Guard. He retired after 43 years as a supervisor for Duke Energy, formerly Duke Power Company. Mr. Teasley was a former member of Edgemont Baptist Church. He coached men’s softball teams and was very active in sports for the Salvation Army and was also an avid Duke fan.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Barbara Odom; two sons, Mark Teasley and wife, Sandy of Durham and Greg Teasley and wife, Donna of Butner; stepsons, Rick Odom and wife, Pam of Charlottesville, Va., Mark Odom of Durham; six grandchildren, Mark Teasley II, Chad Teasley, Melissa Teasley, Drew Odom, Will Odom, Travis Odom and great-granddaughter, Lily Green.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Earl Echols and Mr. Dave Stuntz will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Activee Pallbearers will be Mark Teasley, Greg Teasley, Rick Odom, Mark Odom, Mark Teasley II, Chad Teasley and Melissa Teasley. Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Odom, Will Odom, Drew Odom, Charles Teasley, David Teasley, Tom Baker, Conway Harris and Roy Walker.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.
