DURHAM- Mr. Calvin Q. Parrott, 83, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020.
Mr. Parrott was born on May 27, 1937 to Thomas and Fannie Lee Parrott in Roxboro, NC. Calvin was a member of Harvest Christian Ministries and American Legion Post 7, and played on a softball team for Cooley’s Car Wash. He was a local truck driver for Roadway Express Company for 38 years. Calvin loved to garden and ride his farm tractor. Mr. Parrott proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He will be lovingly remembered by all blessed to have known him.
Mr. Parrott was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Fannie Lee Parrott; his brother, Tom Parrott; and sisters, Shirleen Wills, and Kay Stokes.
Mr. Parrott is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rebecca “Becky” Jean Parrott; sons, Greg Parrott of Stem, NC, Rodney Parrott of Stem, NC, and Todd Parrott of Concord, NC; daughters, Terri Lee Parrott of Durham, NC, and Patti Williamson of Durham, NC; sisters, Sylvia Wimberley and Ann Matthews; grandchildren, Amber Williamson Jones, Andrew Williamson, Karley Parrott, Katelyn Parrott, Shannon Laughter, Alayna Parrott, Danielle Mitchell; and 5 great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Pastor R. Williamson. Flowers are acceptable.
