Carolyn Allen Rives

DURHAM- Ms. Carolyn Sue Allen Rives, 77, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Treyburn Rehabilitation Center.
Ms. Rives was born January 7, 1941 in Durham, NC to the late George and Ersell Allen. She worked at Durham Hosiery Mill as an Inspector where she retired. She was a former member of Holloway Street Baptist Church. Ms. Rives will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
Ms. Rives is preceded in death by her parents, George and Ersell Allen; sisters, Eleanor Allen Truesdale, Geraldine Allen Bowling, Mildred Allen Earp.
Ms. Rives is survived by her son, Jimmy Allen Rives and wife Tracey Taylor Rives of Rougemont, NC; granddaughter, Christen Leigh Taylor and several nieces and nephews; Former husband, Thaddeus Chester Rives, Jr. and wife Linda.
Pallbearers will be Willie E. Hall, Jr., Craig Herndon, Chuck McLean and Danny Basden.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held one-hour prior from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Chris Gaynor. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
