Carolyn King Hales

DURHAM Mrs. Carolyn Gold King Hales, 81, of Durham, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018.
Mrs. Hales was born in Wilson, the daughter of the late Elijah Frank King and Katie Gold King. She retired from Liggett Myers Tobacco Company. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church on Chandler Road in Durham. She enjoyed playing the piano, teaching Sunday School and crocheting. She loved her family and her church family. She was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne King.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, A. George Hales; son, David Hales (Teresa) of Powhatan, VA; daughter, Jo Jones of Wake Forest; sister, Kathy West of Camden, NC and grandson, Joshua Hales of Riverview, Fla.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in South Granville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
