Mrs. Carolyn Louise McLamb, 82, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024. Mrs. McLamb was born on April 28, 1942, to Wilbur and Alyce Whaley in Durham County, NC.
She worked for North Carolina News Group and was a long-time Horton Road Freewill Baptist Church member. She was a member of the Gideons International Women’s Ministry. Carolyn was an animal lover and enjoyed church, gardening, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Mrs. McLamb was preceded in death by her parents Wilbur and Alyce Whaley; husband, Jack McLamb; brothers, Bobby Whaley and Tommy Whaley; and great-granddaughter, Sophia Whaley.
Mrs. McLamb is survived by her children, David McLamb (Lisa) of Durham, NC, Donald McLamb (Irene) of Greensboro, NC, Thomas “Sam” McLamb (Missy) of Burlington, NC, Wendy Howerton (Steve) of Durham, NC; siblings, Joey Whaley (Cheryl), Cyndy Sands (Joe), and Mike Whaley; grandchildren, Johnathan McLamb (Kelly West), Adam McLamb (Lauren), Joshua McLamb (Carrie), Brandon Whaley (Michelle), Grayson Howerton (Lilah), Rev. Nick McLamb (Lindsay), Maria Nunn (Robert), Mason Smith-Ivey, Gabriel McLamb, Grace McLamb, Jeff Borkhuis (Maddy), Erin Whaley, Matthew Whaley (Allison); great-grandchildren, Carter, Cole, Emily, Emma, Evan, Hailey, Holden, Jaxon, Maverick, Mila, Paisley, Savannah, Tyler, and Violet.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Home with Reverend Nick McLamb officiating. The family will receive friends after the memorial service at the funeral home.
