Carolyn Pridgen Black

CREEDMOOR Mrs. Carolyn Pridgen Black, 83, of Creedmoor, died on Thursday, April 9, 2015.

Mrs. Black was the daughter of the late Layton and Ethel Roberson Pridgen. She retired from Durham Drapery. She was a member of the Old Fashioned Tabernacle. Mrs. Black was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Black, Sr.; brothers, Donnie and Junior Pridgen and sisters, Ludie Ware and Shirley Weimer. She enjoyed reading and cooking.

She is survived by her sons, Elbert Black, Jr., Bobby Lee Black and Donald Black; two daughters, Jane Stanley and JoAnn Lafater; brother, Joe Pridgen, sister, Mary Keith; 13 grandchildren, Candy Mosley, Joy Smith, Chris Smith, Sarah Stanley, Sharon Stanley, Kevin Black, Robert Black, Katie Ballanco, Craig Lafater, Bryan Lafater, Kelli Griffin, Sandy King and Donna Wofford; 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Graveside services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Chaplain Allen Murphy will officiate.
