Anita "Carolyn" Ross Richardson

Anita “Carolyn” Ross Richardson, 81, peacefully passed away at home in Durham, North Carolina surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.  She was born September 3, 1942 in Fayetteville, NC to the late Thomas "Wayne" Ross and Eloise Cline Ross.

Carolyn is part of the proud alumni of the Class of 1960 Southern High School where she was a Cheerleader. She worked for many years as a Court Reporter for the State of North Carolina. Carolyn was a longtime member of White Plains United Methodist Church in Cary, N.C. She loved good clean jokes, her church family and keeping in close contact with her family.

Ms. Richardson is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Susan Richardson and her parents.

Carolyn is survived by her loving sister, Joy Herron (Ricky); nephews, Keith Johnson (Lisa) and Dennis Johnson; great niece, Cora Johnson and other loving family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Carolyn’s memory to White Plains United Methodist Church, 313 SE Maynard Rd., Cary, NC 27511 or Fletcher’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 1919 Fletcher’s Chapel Rd., Durham, NC 27703.

A Private Service will be held at a later date.
