Catherine Colclough “Cat Bird ” Herndon

Catherine “Cat Bird” Olivia Colclough Herndon, 73, passed away January 5, 2022, at home.

Mrs. Herndon was born February 3, 1948, to Violet Mae Green and Wesley David Colclough in Durham, NC. Catherine was a fun-loving woman who enjoyed being with her family. She loved to dance and if a tambourine was nearby, she would play it like a professional. Catherine enjoyed her bingo and family cookouts. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her son, Charles Wesley Herndon, Jr. and brothers; Valton Colclough, Jerry Colclough and L. B. Colclough.

In addition to her parents, Catherine leaves behind the love of her life of almost 60 years, Charles W. Herndon, Sr.; her children; Patricia H. Johnson (Tony) of Oxford and Michael Todd Herndon (Sonia) of Bahama; brother, Carlton Green (Margaret); sisters, Kaye Rigsbee (Charlie), Faye Poythress (Cecil) and Beck Herndon (Paul); grandchildren, Cynthia Mills (William), Marty Sherron (Crystal), Cody Sherron (Candace), Brittany McDonald (Dom), Ashley Roberts (Chris), Amy Hurley (Tony); and 10 great grandchildren whom she deeply adored.

A memorial service will be held, 5:00 p.m., Friday, January 14, 2022 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Kim Honeycutt Walsh.
