Charles Douglas Glasgow

DURHAM- Charles Douglas Glasgow born July 16, 1936, died April 18, 2015. He was native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late James H. Glasgow and Lottie G. Glasgow. He retired from A&P (48 years), Harris Teeter (10 years). He was a member of Faith Baptist Church where for many years he taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and served as a deacon. He loved fishing, listening to gospel music and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard B. Glasgow and Danny D. Glasgow; sister, Mary S. Ray; daughter Frances Renee Glasgow.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce Walker Glasgow; son, Charles Douglas Glasgow Jr.; daughter, Debra G. Ramsey (Darrell); sister, JoAnn G. Champion; brother, Wayne Glasgow; grandchildren, Austin Ramsey (Ashley), Kelley Ramsey, Caleb Glasgow-Gery, Sierra Gery, Hiedi Glasgow, Emily G. Faust (Romney), Jessie Glasgow and Nathan Glasgow; 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 3321 Cheek Rd. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.  Active pallbearers will be Barry Norton, Gary Phillips, Brett Durham, Roger Mishue and Charles Clark.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 20, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable or donations can be made to Faith Baptist Church, 3321 Cheek Rd., Durham, NC 27704. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
