Charles Joseph Berels, Jr.

DURHAM Mr. Charles Joseph Berels, Jr., 67, of 6 McCool Court, Durham, N.C., died on Sunday, August 2, 2015.
Mr. Berels was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Charles Joseph Berels and Eileen Finegan Berels. He had a master of fine arts and taught in the Wayne-Westland School District for 40 years. He was well loved by all the staff and students, and challenged them and made learning fun. He was also on the Huron-Valley School Board for 12 years and a landscape architect. He attended Immaculate Conception Church. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Berels and sister, Charleen Berels.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen F. Berels; son, Christopher Berels of Highland Township, Michigan; stepsons, Mark Borgerding of Durham N.C. and Dennis Borgerding of San Clemente, Calif.; brother, Dennis Berels of Rotonda West, Fla. and 4 grandchildren.
