Charles Williams “Bill” Wilkins, Sr.

DURHAM Mr. Charles Williams “Bill” Wilkins, Sr., 83, of 2513 S. Alston Ave., died on Wednesday, September 25, 2013.

Mr. Wilkins was born in Orange Factory to the late Vester James Wilkins and Mary Lucy Ellis Wilkins. He retired from Burroughs Welcome where he worked in the Maintenance Dept. He loved fishing, hunting and playing his guitar. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Carr Wilkins.

He is survived by his sons, Terry Wilkins of Pittsboro, Scotty Wilkins (Leslie) of Pittsboro and Chuck Wilkins (Bonita) of Timberlake; two daughters, Sandra Gray (Bill Jr.) of Pittsboro and Teresa Howerton (Freddie) of Creedmoor; two brothers, Floyd Wilkins and Harold Wilkins both of Durham; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lowes Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2513 S. Alston Ave in Durham. Flowers are acceptable or donations can be made to Duke HomeCare and Hospice, 4321 Medical Park Drive, Suite 100, Durham NC 27704
