Charles Wesley Atkins, Sr.

ROUGEMONT Mr. Charles W. Atkins, Sr., 65, of Rougemont, left his family and friends on Wednesday, December 21, 2011. He will be most fondly remembered for his Great Joyous Spirit. Mr. Atkins served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in the 362 Tropospheric Scatter Communications. He was a Volunteer Fireman and First Responder with the Caldwell Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid Ham Radio Operator and 37 year employee of IBM Corp. Charles was a member of the Church of Christ since 1965. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest W. and Frances Crews Atkins. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.He is survived by his loving wife, Carol B. Atkins; two sons, Charles W. Atkins, Jr. (Jolene) of Marietta, Oh. and Kenneth W. Atkins (Kelley) of Auburn, Al.A private family service will be held at a later date.
