Chris Charles Christy

Chris Charles Christy, 78, of Durham, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 2, 2024. He was born in Danville, Virginia, on December 17, 1945, to the late Charles and Mary Christy.

Mr. Christy is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Janette Searls Christy; his son, Charles Christy of Burlington, N.C.; and one grandchild, Noah Stallings-Christy.

Chris was a devoted member of Bethesda Baptist Church, where he actively contributed to various community efforts, including building wheelchair ramps for those in need in the community. His commitment extended to his involvement with the Bethesda Ruritan Club, and he cherished his time with friends and fellow members. As a member of the Bethesda Baptist Prime Timers Group, Chris enjoyed traveling and fellowship. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church, with Reverend Jonathan Barbee officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethesda Baptist Church, located at 1914 S. Miami Blvd, Durham, NC 27703.
