Chris “Big Red” Dziedzic, 38, of Durham, North Carolina passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. He was born March 30, 1985. in Hudson County, New Jersey to Paul and Nancyann Dziedzic.
Chris, or Big Red because of his 6’6” stature, graduated with Honors from John T. Hoggard High School in Wilmington, NC. Upon graduating he received several scholarships from many incredible Universities countrywide, and he chose NC State University as his next step in life. While attending NCSU, he traveled throughout the country as an Assistant Coach with the NCSU Women’s Basketball team, attended classes full time and worked at UPS in Raleigh as a full time Hub Manager. After graduating from NC State in 2008 he began working for Acorn Industries, now known as Environmental Air Systems, where he was a Senior Project Manager.
Chris enjoyed anything technical and loved making things work better, or at all. From a cellphone, computer or even modifying cars or trucks, he loved spending time on the beach or gaming with his brother and sister. He had recently taken up woodworking, and of course, his Legos were his love since childhood. “Big Red” is a legacy and will be deeply missed by all of his family, friends and coworkers.
Chris is survived by his loving parents, Paul and Nancyann Dziedzic; brother, Stephen Dziedzic (Caitlin); sister, Anita Dziedzic (Baxter); paternal grandmother, Eleanor Dziedzic; maternal grandfather, Rudolf Mathisen (Linda); maternal grandmother, Judy Sinatra (Joe Sinatra); Fiancé, Jena Autry and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Joseph Dziedzic; maternal Aunt, Karen Bailey and Uncle, Darius Dziedzic.
