Christine Seagroves Herndon

 Christine “Tine” Herndon, 88, peacefully passed away with her family, August 15, 2024, at her home to be with her Lord and Savior. 

Mrs. Christine Herndon was born on February 19, 1936, to (the late) William Haywood Seagroves and Beulah Farrell in Apex, North Carolina. 

Mrs. Herndon was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Clarence Gaston Herndon; brothers, Tommy Seagroves, Wallace Seagroves, and Graham Seagroves; sister, Deborah Clark; grandson, Chase Herndon. 

Mrs. Herndon is survived by her son, Larry Herndon (Emily); sister, Sandra S. Sirhan; sister-in-law, Nancy Seagroves, and Lessie Tillman; grandchildren, Casey Herndon (Mary); Brooklyn Herndon, Isaiah Herndon, and Olivia Herndon.

Christine was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. 

Mrs. Herndon retired from Edward Weck Company after working for 20 years and later enjoyed substituting at Durham Public Schools from 2002 to 2024.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church with a memorial service following at the church at 2:00 p.m. Calvary Baptist Church is located at 1204 Lynn Rd, Durham, NC 27703. 

Officiating will be Reverend Jody Griffin and Reverend Chris Otto. 

Flowers are acceptable.
