Christine Mitchell Spring

On October 2, 2022, Christine Mitchell Spring died in Mebane, North Carolina at the age of 92.

Christine is preceded in death by her parents Mamie & Wanie Mitchell, her husband Jack Carl Spring; sister Fadine Harris and brother Roland Mitchell. She is survived by her children Larry Carl Spring of Marion, North Carolina; Brenda Spring Maynard and husband Phil of Graham, North Carolina, and Keith Mitchell Spring and wife Juli of Broomfield, Colorado; her grandchildren Amy Maynard of Graham, North Carolina, Emily Mason and husband Warren Mason of Mebane North Carolina, Victoria Spring and husband Ben Scallon of Astoria, New York and Ashlyn Spring and husband Jesse Williams of Denver, Colorado; and great grandchildren Olivia Mason and Ruby Mason of Mebane, North Carolina.

Christine was born on December 26,1929 in Durham, North Carolina. She graduated from Bethesda High School in 1947. Before retiring, Christine worked at Durham’s Southern High School as the Cafeteria Manager. She met Jack, the love of her life, married in 1949 and the two lived in Durham all their lives. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved spending as much time with them as possible. Telling memorable stories of each of them when they were growing up always made her smile. She enjoyed cooking and talked about the meals she wished she could still fix for herself and family and how she and the ladies at Southern would do all they could to make the high school food taste better.

No memorial service or funeral is planned. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Sherron Acres Free Will Baptist Church in Durham.
