DURHAM Mr. Claude Mitchell Loan, Jr., 70, of Durham, went to be with his Savior on Monday, September 28, 2015 at Duke Homecare and Hospice.
Mr. Loan was born in Covington, Virginia. He was a retired Computer Programer with Hercules in Covington. He was a member of Christ Baptist Church and a Teen Leader in Word of Life. He loved the outdoors, birds and flowers and enjoyed camping, cooking, going to the beach and Hokie football. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tamara Overcash and his father, Claude Mitchell Loan, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Moss Loan; mother, Violet Linkswiler Loan; daughters, Melanie Fuhrman (Ricky) of Virginia and Allison Price (Josh) of Wake Forest; brother, Gerry Loan (Cindy) of Hot Springs, Va.; sisters, Joyce Cronin (Joe), Jewel Pence (David) both of Roanoke, Va., June Hayslett (Richard) and Leneise Kitt (Gary) both of Covington, Va.; grandchildren, Harlee Fuhrman, Connor Fuhrman, Carter Overcash, Tristan Price, Scarlett Price and Maverick Price.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel.Dr. David Hogg will officiate. Pallbearers will be Gerry Loan, Richard Hayslett, Brad Hayslett, Ricky Fuhrman, Josh Price and Timmy Lann. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Moss, Nelson Moss and Grover Moss. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1 to2 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
