Clay Brent Moss

Mr. Clay Brent Moss, 66, passed away March 2, 2023.

Clay was born July 26, 1956, in Durham, NC to the late Clarence Robert and Lacy Whitley Moss. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Whitley.

Clay graduated from Southern High School and continued his education at Durham Technical Community College. He was a man of faith and member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church. He always had a smile on his face, never met a stranger, and had a great sense of humor. Clay worked as machinist with Flow Serve U.S Inc. and then became a Fabricator with a Fiber Optic Company. He enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and other oldie TV shows. His passion was the outdoors, whether it was fishing in the spring, gardening in the summer, or hunting in the winter, you could find him doing what he loved. Above all he was deeply committed to his family and enjoyed the time spent with them. Clay will be remembered as a loving brother, uncle, and friend.

Mr. Moss is survived by his brothers, Rev. C.W. Moss (Dale) and Stanley Moss (Elizabeth); sister, Betty Mcgaha (Walter); several nieces and nephews; special friend, Kathy Chambers; and his favorite sidekick, Lacy, his pet dog.  

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gerald Goodwin and Rev. C.W. Moss officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
