Connie Ray

Durham-Connie Lee Ray, 78, of Durham died on Monday, December 31, 2012. He was the son of the late George Connie Ray and Katie Bell Stanley Ray. Mr. Ray served in the U.S. Army. He was a self-employed painter. He was of the Baptist Faith. He is survived by his three daughters Lisa Anne Ray of Lynchburg, VA; Sandra Lee Brown and husband William of Tampa, Fl; and Karen Marie Bongardt of Springlake, NC; three sisters Marie King of West Palm Beach, Fl; Elsie Goss of New Hill, NC; Mary Ann Saitta of Durham; two grandchildren Nikiya Lee Shipp and Alicia Michelle Westerhoff, two great grandchildren. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Dr. Jack Cox will officiate. Pallbearers will be Johnny Goss, Allen Taylor, Phillip Goss, Timmy Taylor, William W. Brown and Luis Serrano-Torres.The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. one hour prior to service at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at his sister Mary Saitta, 500 Cobb St., Apt. 217, Durham.
