Connie Susan Blumenthal

DURHAM Ms. Connie Susan Blumenthal, 48, of Durham, died on Monday, April 25, 2016 after a courageous battle with leukemia.
Ms. Blumenthal was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Pennsylvania and her Master of Public Health degree at the University of North Carolina. She was employed for over 16 years at the UNC Sheps Center for Health Services Research as a Project Coordinator. In both her work and her personal life, Connie was a tireless champion for improving minority health and for social justice. She was a member of Triangle Family Shule for over 10 years. Most importantly, Connie was an amazing mother to two wonderful, compassionate children whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her husband, of 18 years, Alan Rissberger; children, Eli Rissberger and Talia Blumenthal; mother, Cele Blumenthal; and sister, Wendy Blumenthal (partner Kevin Young).

A memorial service to celebrate Connie’s life will be held at the Levin Jewish Community Center, 1937 West Cornwallis Road, Durham, NC 27705, on May 7th at 2:00 pm.
A second memorial service will be held at Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel, 8339 Old York Road, Elkins Park, PA 19027 on May 22nd at 1:00 p.m.
