DURHAM Mr.Curtis Ray Duke, 68, of 306 Robbins Road, died on Monday, January 7, 2013 at the Hock Pavilion, after a courageous battle with cancer.Mr. Duke was born in Apex to the late John Graham Duke and Bessie Jane Hicks Duke. After retiring from Danaher Corp as a Tool Maker and Welder, Curtis loved spending time at the beach with his family and friends. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his five brothers, Hoover, Milton, Marshall, Bobby and Eugene Duke. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandra Moore Duke; three brothers, Titus and Elsie of Durham, Billy and Jackie of Chapel Hill and Linwood and Mary Lou of Fuquay-Varina; one sister, Brenda Lorren of Cary; sister-in-laws, Peggy, Phyllis, Millie and Alice Duke; special son, Toby and numerous family and friends.Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 am at Fellowship Baptist Church. Dr. Rick Finley will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Jerry George,Mack Teasley, Stanley, Lorren, Keith Fowler, Eric Hester and Scott Morris. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home, 306 Robbins Road. Flowers are acceptable or donations can be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, 515 Southerland St, Durham, NC 27703.
