DURHAM- Dahlia Mae Wrenn Carter, 84, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020.

Mrs. Carter was born on February 13, 1936 to William and Hilda Wrenn in Durham, NC. She was an excellent seamstress and worked in the textile and upholstery industry. She enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach. She loved her family and will be deeply missed by them.

Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her parents, William and Hilda Wrenn; her daughter, Joyce Huntsberry; and grandchild, Cynthia Averitt. She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Glenn A. Carter of Durham, NC; sons, Dwayne Carter of Efland, NC, and Kevin Carter of Durham, NC; daughters, Nancy Evans (Dwight) of Durham, NC, and Connie Price (Martin) of Efland, NC; brothers, Walter Wrenn of Warrenton, NC, and Ronnie Wrenn of New Bern, NC; sisters, Jean Draper of Durham, NC, and Betty Burke of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Chris Averitt, Cheryl Huntsberry, Michel Evans, Jesse Evans, Nicole Allen, Gabby Carter, Nicholas Howe, Jennifer Veasey, Randi Carter, Dalton Price, and Reagan Price; great-grandchildren, Melissa Averitt, Alanah Warwick, Cameron Warwick, Ezra Evans, Elijah Evans, Josiah Evans, Eliora Evans, Aubrey Allen, Haydin Howe, Sebastian Krutilek, Isabella Krutilkova, Chandler Carter, and Dale Travis.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Greg Allison. Pallbearers will be Michel Evans, Jesse Evans, Randi Carter, Jared Allen, Dalton Price, and Nicholas Howe. Honorary pallbearer will be Mike Nix. Burial to follow at Markham Memorial Gardens. Flowers are acceptable.
