Daisy Ellis Young

DURHAM Mrs. Daisy Ellis Young, 84, of Durham, died on Wednesday, May 10, 2017.
Mrs. Young was born in Bahama, NC, the daughter of the late Otha J. Ellis and Gracie Roberts Ellis. She was a homemaker and was a member of Ellis Chapel United Methodist Church all of her life. She attended Gorman Baptist Church where she taught pre-school and St. Paul United Methodist Church where she taught the Adult Sunday School Class. She worked with the children at the Cerebral Palsy Hospital in Durham. She was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Jane Ellis.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Young; two sons, Kenneth Edward Young and Joseph Allen Young both of Durham; sister, Jennie Faye Stevens of Raleigh and several nieces.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Rev. Michael Connor will officiate.
